Thanks for checking out what's new in Farmbrite for July! We have a wide range of improvements this month, including updates to accounting transactions, inventory, and treatments for both crops and livestock. Many of these new features are designed to save you time and streamline operations, like scanning receipts to prepopulate account transaction data, and using task and treatment templates in bulk actions. There are also new alerts for animals and plantings that are in withholding periods, a way for you to clean up your historic inventory lots, and new market reports based on product purchases! Let's check them out!
Scanning Receipts for Accounting Transactions
You can now scan receipt images to automatically load data in your accounting transactions. This new feature reads and interprets an image of your transaction receipt and fill details like vendor, amount, date, and more. You can also use this to read each line item on the receipt and then split the transaction into multiple financial categories. This can be accomplished from your computer by uploading an image, or directly from your camera phone using the Farmbrite mobile app. We always encourage you to review the data it reads, but you'll be a step ahead compared to typing it all manually.
Withdrawing Alerts
Animals, plantings, and grow locations that are currently in a withholding period now display an automatic record alert. If the treatment you applied includes a withdrawal date to prevent you from harvesting for a set period, you'll now see the end date of that period prominently displayed on the record. It is also included on the main livestock dashboard and your grow location records as well. Your calendar still displays the withdrawal dates as well, but you'll save some time by seeing this at a quick glance when you access the record.
Using Task and Treatment Templates in Bulk Actions
Task and Treatment templates can now be applied to multiple selected records using Bulk Actions. This feature is now available on your livestock dashboard and groups, as well as from grow locations and crop type planting lists. This helps you select specific records to record tasks and treatments using preloaded templates instead of supplying all of the details each time. You can learn more about creating task templates and series here, and then read about treatments templates for livestock here, and crop treatment templates in this article.
New Market Reports
There are two new market reports that help you see sales data by product. The Products by Customer report is organized by customer, and displays the amount and total spend for each product they have ordered. This can help you see past purchases for them by item, not just the order amount. Additionally, the Customers by Product report shows similar data, but reversed. This report is organized by product, and displays the customers with the total amount and quantity ordered for each product.
Archiving Inventory Lots
You can now archive inventory lots that you no longer need to work with. This might be useful to remove empty lots from your list of inventory storage once they are emptied or expire. That way you won't see them when you view inventory item storage, nor when you pick your market orders from your warehouses and bins. Don't worry though, they are sill reflected in your history and history reports.
That takes us through the features for this month, reach out and let us know if you have any questions about using these!
