Sometimes beds, fields, and other mapped locations will need to be updated. You might reorganize your farm layout to improve efficiencies, or make room for a new type of animal. Businesses expand, additional land might be purchased, and new buildings might be constructed and added to your farm operation. In any scenario, you can update your map to change field sizes, names, boundaries, and more.
To get started on making these changes, navigate to Farm Map on the left. You'll see a satellite view of your farm, with your existing locations mapped. If you don't see any locations yet, check out this Getting Started Guide for more information.

If you would like to update anything about your existing location, just click on it! You'll immediately see a menu pop up with some options.
- Edit Details - Use this to update the name, text orientation, color, type, or connected record for the mapped area.
- Adjust - This helps you change the pinpoints of the area to make small adjustments, or pick up and move the entire area at once.
- Copy - Use this to make an exact copy of the area. The map will zoom out and you'll see the copy slightly north east of the original.
- Delete - Click the trash can icon if you'd like to remove the mapped area completely.
Edit Details of Your Mapped Area
If you need to edit the name, text orientation, type, color, or grow location connection of a mapped location, you can click on it and choose Edit Details. In the new window you can make changes to any of these. Our example below shows us making updates to the mapped color, but you can make any of these updates here. The text orientation might be particularly useful if you have fields that are oriented North to South.

Adjusting Your Mapped Area
If you'd like to change the plot points of your area, or move the entire area at once, you can accomplish both actions by selecting Adjust. Clicking that will display all of the plotted points, which can be clicked and dragged to change the shape. You'll also see a toolbar in the upper left when adjusting the area. You can undo and redo your actions here, and then save after you've completed the change. The Resize tool will be enabled by default for you to adjust the plot points.
If you'd like to move the entire area at once, you'll want to enable the move tool. Just click the "move" button with the cross/compass in the toolbar. Click it, and then you can pick up and drag the entire area at once. You'll notice that any other areas are temporarily hidden so you can move this between layers. This could be very useful if you just copied an area and want to move it to it's correct location and it overlaps with other areas you have mapped like fields and property boundaries.

Copying Your Mapped Area
If you need to make an exact copy of an area, you can select the copy action. This could be great for pivot irrigation with multiple circular fields, or many beds within a field that are all the same size. Once copied, you can move it and adjust it to fit perfectly in place.
