How do I change the time zone or address in my account?

Updating Your Timezone

Farmbrite is available to farmers and ranchers all around the world. While we are based in the united States, we want to provide you with an accurate calendar and dates for when actions were done in the software in your location. When you first open your Farmbrite account, you'll be asked to select a time zone for your farm, but if you have selected it incorrectly you can absolutely update it.

This time zone controls a few different aspects of your Farmbrite account.

  1. The timezone is used mainly for your calendar. Selecting your correct time zone will instruct the software to change your calendar o the next day based on that timezone.
  2. The timezone is also used when recording updates from users. For example, when you complete a task, the software will associate a date to when it was completed, and will use your timezone to determine today's date.
  3. Some records have default dates preloaded into them when you start to create one. For example, if you create a treatment, the software assumes it is occuring today, and uses your timezone to determine the current date.

So if you live in somewhere like Australia or Asia where you are already " on to tomorrow" while we are still "finishing up today", this setting can really help you align with your local times.

To update it, just navigate to the  Gear icon in the upper right, and select Settings. You'll see a dropdown menu for Timezone, select your zone and be sure to click save.

Updating Your Address

Similarly, your address data on that same settings page also has an effect on your Farmbrite account.

  1. It will be used to determine the starting location of your farm map. Whenever you navigate to the map, the view will default to this address/where you place the pin on the Settings page map.
  2. This is also used to show your local weather on the Farmbrite homepage when you first log in.

You can navigate to the same Settings menu as above, and update your address there. Hot Tip: drag the GPS pin on the Settings map to default your farm map to somewhere else. If your fields are far away from your business address,  the map will default whenever you place the pin. See our example below.
