This month, we've added a few new enhancements that build on changes we made last month, as well as other new features. You'll find new improvements associated with animal growth and maturity, updates to mapping, new filters for you to use, default warehouses for easier inventory storage, and a lot more!
Enhancements to Last Month's New Features
First, you might recall that we added new fields for Expected Maturity Date and Weight to Livestock records in March's updates. We received great feedback about this and requests for additional improvements.
- You'll now find an Expected Maturity Report that shows this data for all of your animals.
- You can now add birthdates to Set Groups, helping you better determine their age to track their growth compared to it.
- Reporting and Group filters now have expanded preloaded options that now include future intervals like next month and next quarter. This can help you find animals that you expect to be mature during that upcoming timeframe.
Additionally, if you used the new option from last month to mark your animals as being gifted or donated, you can now use that field as a filter on your reports and groups.
Inventory Updates
You'll see two new features in the inventory and warehouse section.
- You can now define a default warehouse to be used for an inventory item. When you add to or remove from that item, the warehouse will automatically be selected as the storage location. This can help you save time and applies to the Quick Add features as well.
- If you only have a single warehouse created in your account, it will be automatically selected when adding and removing any inventory item. No need to make a selection from a dropdown menu that only has a single option.
Livestock Updates
You can now add historical values to your animals. This can help you track the value of your livestock over time and account for appreciation. Coming Next Month - We're working on a report to track these values over time!
Animals used as surrogates now have a note written on their record when they give birth. The offspring are still associated with the genetic dam's record, but the surrogate will now be marked as having given birth, with the litter size and details appended.
There are two new fields available to use in livestock custom reports. You can now add the Last Birthing date to see the last date an animal gave birth and Animal Description to see the extra details you have added about the animal.
Crop Updates
There is a new field on nutrient additions and sample records to add a description or additional notes. This field is also added to the reports for these records.
Speaking of reports, the Crop Treatment report now shows what bed the treatment was applied to, along with the grow location.
You can now duplicate grow locations. If you plan on adding new fields to your farm this season, you can now easily copy the details from your existing locations. This might also be helpful for microgreen grows using hydroponic towers or market growers expanding with new beds.
Other Updates
You'll see a new Payment Date field when recording transactions for a market order payment. This was previously used to the date of the order, but you can now change the date the payment was made to reflect the day you actually received it.
Custom fields have been enhanced to include the description of the field as a tool tip. You can now add instructions and clarification for how the field can be used, and your farmhands and colleagues will see the instructions when using the field.
If you have multiple locations scattered across towns, counties, or even states, you'll now find an option to default the farm map to your current location. This uses your device's GPS to show you exactly where you are and pinpoint your location at the right farm or field.
Tasks that do not have a specific due time defined will now show as all-day tasks rather than being displayed at 11:45 PM the day they are due.
Newly created contacts will now default to your local country instead of always prepopulating Uthe nited States in the address.
