Check out all of the new features and improvements we've added for August 2024. We've made big improvements to your market order financials, enhancements to livestock and crop records, and updated our help center to make it easier for you to find the information you need. All of these features are available for you to use immediately.
Market Updates
You can now assign your market products to unique financial categories. You can use this feature to define what accounting category each product should be automatically associated within your financial reporting. So if you have defined a custom chart of accounts, you can now connect your indivdiual products to unique categories to generate a more specific Profit and Loss Statement. These categories are automatically used when adding the payments from your market orders as income accounting transactions, and orders with multiple products will be split into the correct categories. Note that this feature is optional; if you do not configure these custom categories, you Farmbrite account will still use the default category for income transactions.
We've also updated the way taxes are handled from your market orders. To better align with standard accounting practices, the taxes from your market orders will no longer be added as income to accounting transactions. The taxes will be shown in the liabilities section of your Balance Sheet, and on the Completed Orders report.
Livestock and Crop Records
You'll see two new features on your Livestock records this month. First, if you are breeding animals via embryo transfer, you'll now see the genetic female shown on the surrogate animal's record for easy reference. Also, you'll see that you can now add notes on measurement records to add more description and details about what you noticed when weighting your livestock.
We've also updated crop records as well. Similar to the livestock change, you'll also see a new field for additional notes on your crop harvests, giving you that same opportunity to record more detail about the yield. Beyond that, we have updated our crop harvest API and Zapier integrations to include additional harvest data that you can send to other apps and systems.
Help Center Updates
We've overhauled the Farmbrite Help Center to make it easier to find what you're looking for. You'll immediately see the new search based homepage to more easily search the articles, tutorials, and more. There are new Quick Start guides, more videos, and new section towards the bottom for categories. The previous menu structure has also been updated for a clean look and an easier learning experience.
Other Updates
We have heard requests for a easier way to find repeating tasks on the task list, and you'll now see a new icon indicating this.
We've also added a new way for you to contact us regarding opening a subaccount. If you run multiple businesses and need to keep separate financials for each, reach out to us using the new link in your profile menu to discuss how we can help.
